Motorola Clutch i475 Review

Motorola Clutch i475

Motorola Clutch i475 by Boost Mobile is the good messenger phone with spacious QWERTY keyboard. Multimedia features of the smartphone are not very impressive but the call quality is good and the large screen is also bit of an attraction. The price is $99.99 which is easily affordable and is right as compared to the features provided. The network technology is iDEN with support for pus  h-to-talk capability. After almost two years Boost Mobile has launched this model i475. The smartphone has mostly the same features as of its predecessor Motorola Clutch i465 but the design does have some nice renovations.

Design

Motorola Clutch i475

Motorola Clutch i475 is based on Candybar Form Factor design. The smartphone is 4.2 inch tall, 2.3 inch wide, 0.6 inch thick and has weight 113g. Clutch i475 has internal antenna and is available in Black color. The smartphone looks durable and tough as compared to its predecessor with curved edges but it is not that rugged to bear the environmental hazards so be careful.

The display is 2-inch which is larger than the previous i465. Display is colored with TFT technology and has resolution 220×176 pixels. It supports 65536 colors. The smartphone has full QWERTY keyboard with two soft keys and also volume control keys are present at the left side. The smartphone has circular navigation control in the middle with two keys at both right and left sides and with Menu and Speaker keys below them. Then the smartphone has bit larger Send and End keys at the side of the navigation array. The keyboard is spacious with prominent highlighted keys.

The left spine of the smartphone has the volume control keys and also the push-to-talk button. The right spine has the microUSB port. The headphone jack of size 2.5mm is present at the top. The back of the smartphone has the VGA Camera.

Features

Motorola Clutch i475

Motorola Clutch i475 has almost the same features as of its predecessors. The smartphone is Java based and supports Java games. Internet browsing supports XHTML and WAP 2.0. Organizer of the smartphone has Calendar, Alarm and Calculator. Phonebook of the smartphone has bit limited capacity. Phonebook can accommodate total 600 phonebook entries. Each entry can have seven numbers, notes and an email address. The regular SMS, MMS and Email messaging services are provided. The key feature regarding SMS messaging is that it supports threaded messaging.

Clutch i475 has 8MB built-in memory. Regarding connectivity, the smartphone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 with EDR, microUSB version 2.0 for USB charging and 2.5mm headphone connector. The smartphone provides location based services of type GPS with navigation.

Regarding notifications it supports Polyphonic ringtones, Music ringtones with supported formats MP3, WAV and MIDI. Other notifications include Vibration alert, Flight mode and Silent mode. The other main feature is the push-to-talk capability. Camera of the i475 is really disappointing which has 0.3 MP VGA resolution with Digital zoom feature.

Performance

Call quality of the smartphone is really impressive. Sound and voice are clear without distortion or interference. Even on high volumes the sound is really clear. Clutch i475 is powered by Lithium-ion battery with capacity 1130 mAh. Battery provides average Talk time of about 4.8 hours and Stand-by time of 4.2 days.

Moreover, the 0.3 MP VGA Camera is substandard and provides poor photo quality.  Photos are always out of focus and are really blurry. Colors are also mingled up and are dim. However, as the memory of the smartphone is really low and it also does not support memory expansion therefore, you cannot take many photos.

Conclusion

Motorola Clutch i475

Motorola Clutch i475 is the good option for those who want good call quality and a messaging phone. The design of the smartphone does have some improvements over its predecessor but still the Camera is disappointing. The smartphone is really cheap and is available without contract.
