As I sat on my deck, vaping my favorite cannabis blend, I was reminded that on this election day ten years ago, California – and indeed the nation – embarked on a journey that has brought us the freedom and prosperity that we revel in today.

Who would have thought, even 15 years ago, that marijuana would be the State's biggest legitimate cash crop? Or that people from all over the nation would be flocking, not just to California's Wine Country, but to Humboldt and Mendocino County for limousine or charter-bus Weed Tours to enjoy California's finest in fancy tasting rooms?                               (Click on title to read more) 

In August, the Colorado Department of Revenue released draft rules for the State's medical marijuana regulations which may include surveillance cameras and an online tracking system to avoid fraud and black market sales. The tracking system would link to an online government database and could even include fingerprinting and tracking devices in containers. In all its 92-page glory, the draft does not describe the tracking system precisely. And it is not subject to a vote, because this falls under the purview of the Department of Revenue as regulators of medical marijuana. There will be a public hearing in January. Until then, there are many unanswered questions and a lot of fear among both patients and dispensaries.
