It's no secret that our nation is dealing with the return of a lot of emotionally wounded warriors.  Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has been long since identified as an ailment for which cannabis is  an effective treatment. The feds say marijuana is illegal, but they have a problem now, don't they? 

In an effort to better serve those wounded warriors suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury, Cannabis Science Inc., a U.S. biotech company in the business of developing medical marijuana products, has formed a military advisory board. ... (click on title for the rest of the story) 

The marijuana industry won some and lost some in last month's election, but it hasn't lost momentum. Now it has a national trade association. The National Cannabis Industry Association went live on November 24th. 

"We're really going to focus right now on building our base and establishing ourselves on Capital Hill," said NCIA Executive Director Aaron Smith.  From there, NCIA's proposed mission statement will also include expanding the market in more states. "We will be working with local organizations and eventually chapters to adopt new medical marijuana laws --and beyond medical marijuana for that matter-- into state licensing for adult-use sales of cannabis," he added.

An independent medical grower has come up with two winners via a circuitous route. Like a reverse Johnny Appleseed, this man had collected a number of seeds in the course of his travels. He calls himself Johnny Happyseed, and he planted some of his collection for this year’s outdoor harvest. He has produced at least two winners for MMP use.

As I sat on my deck, vaping my favorite cannabis blend, I was reminded that on this election day ten years ago, California – and indeed the nation – embarked on a journey that has brought us the freedom and prosperity that we revel in today.

Who would have thought, even 15 years ago, that marijuana would be the State's biggest legitimate cash crop? Or that people from all over the nation would be flocking, not just to California's Wine Country, but to Humboldt and Mendocino County for limousine or charter-bus Weed Tours to enjoy California's finest in fancy tasting rooms?                               (Click on title to read more) 

After considering all the facts around Proposition 19, the Regulate, Control and Talk Cannabis Act of 2010, PlainView Systems, LLC officially endorses Proposition 19 and strongly urges California voters to do the same. 

This proposition, if passed into law, would enhance the rights of all marijuana users and create a public policy that would greatly benefit Californians through proper regulations and taxation of cannabis products and services sold to the public. In addition, it would legalize possession of a small amount of marijuana for private use. These are NOT bad things!  ...

In August, the Colorado Department of Revenue released draft rules for the State's medical marijuana regulations which may include surveillance cameras and an online tracking system to avoid fraud and black market sales. The tracking system would link to an online government database and could even include fingerprinting and tracking devices in containers. In all its 92-page glory, the draft does not describe the tracking system precisely. And it is not subject to a vote, because this falls under the purview of the Department of Revenue as regulators of medical marijuana. There will be a public hearing in January. Until then, there are many unanswered questions and a lot of fear among both patients and dispensaries.

Imagine there really is intelligent life beyond our planet. Imagine their monitoring our news and entertainment media. What would they make of a country that allows the sale of tobacco which kills, but not marijuana, which eases symptoms of various ailments, ameliorates or eliminates side effects of chemo and actually improves some conditions for which Western medicine has no cure?

It all seems very arbitrary and ridiculous when seen with an objective eye. Yet whose eyes are truly objective?

In the Golden State's city by the bay, where you can board a plane with your medical marijuana, you can attend a cannabis and hemp expo that offers an educational series, exhibits, concerts  – and for card-carrying patients – free samples. The International Cannabis and Hemp Expo is less than two weeks away.
