In August, the Colorado Department of Revenue released draft rules for the State's medical marijuana regulations which may include surveillance cameras and an online tracking system to avoid fraud and black market sales. The tracking system would link to an online government database and could even include fingerprinting and tracking devices in containers. In all its 92-page glory, the draft does not describe the tracking system precisely. And it is not subject to a vote, because this falls under the purview of the Department of Revenue as regulators of medical marijuana. There will be a public hearing in January. Until then, there are many unanswered questions and a lot of fear among both patients and dispensaries.

OAKLAND — A medical marijuana dispensary across from Oakland police headquarters is on the verge of closure after attorneys representing the business lost a second attempt Thursday to postpone a city decision revoking the dispensary's operating permit.
